Ways to Pray

JOURNAL YOUR PRAYERS:

As you pray take time to right down your prayer requests. This is a great method of prayer because you can look back on your prayers to see how the Lord came through. Include praises, requests, questions, struggles, heart aches, and any other emotions you are experiencing.

PRAYER WALK:

Spend time when you are at your best, whether morning, afternoon, or evening, walking around your neighborhood. Pray for the people who live in the homes along with your normal prayers.

PRAY SCRIPTURE:

As you are using the one of the bible study methods found on the Bible Study Methods page take a verse and turn it into a prayer. Make these prayers personal to you.

PARTNER UP:

Ask someone to be your prayer partner and meet with them at least one time a week to pray. This will not only deepen your prayer life but also your friendship.

GET QUIET:

Prayer is a two-way conversation, not a one way street. Since God often speaks in a still, small voice we need to distance ourselves from distractions. You won’t always hear a voice but rather tug at your heart, convict your conscience, or help you realize what’s next.

LISTENING TIME:

We have hundreds, often thousands of thoughts each day. Turn those thoughts into prayers by asking God to download a thought into your mind about something to pray for. This will help you recognize God’s presence in your life.
